Inspiring Women Share their Career Stories with EVEN - Lacey Filipich

Did you know that 1 in 6 women in Australia will experience financial abuse? We spoke to a money expert to find out how to create financial security.

The team at EVEN have been an admirer of Lacey Filipich’s work for a while! Her TEDx talk has been viewed over a million times, and it’s easy to see why. Lacey is the Director of Money School and an award-winning author in the financial education space.

What we love about Lacey is that her financial educational content is not prescriptive - it’s all about tailoring financial strategies for saving, avoiding or getting out of bad debt, and investing to your personal circumstances, to your risk appetite, and your life goals.

So when Lacey agreed to be interviewed for the EVEN platform, we couldn’t have been more excited! We are huge advocates for women talking openly about money, women managing their money, and women having healthy practices in a partnership at home about money.

At EVEN, our perspective is that it’s tricky for women to fully thrive in their career and participate economically if financial foundations and financial equity are not present at home.

Lacey’s interview was full of pragmatic strategies about saving, investing, and avoiding or getting out of bad debt. But what stayed with us the most was her advice for women: “Don’t abdicate responsibility for money”.

If you’ve been burying your head in the sand about money, then this inspirational woman is the one to listen to.
